Share the Joy of Eid with the Less Fortunate

Sadaqah Fitr, also known as Zakat al-Fitr and Fitrana, is an obligatory charitable donation given by Muslims at the end of Ramadan. This small yet significant act ensures that everyone in our community, regardless of their circumstances, can partake in the joy and blessings of Eid.

The minimum requirement for Sadaqah Fitr this year is £5.50 per person. However, donating more is encouraged and brings greater reward.

To ensure your donation reaches those in need before Eid, donate your Sadaqah Fitr by Thursday, 27th March 2025.

“The Prophet (peace be upon him) enjoined the payment of one Saa’ of dates or one Saa’ of barley as Zakat al-Fitr on every Muslim, whether slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be given before people go out to offer the Eid prayer.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sadaqah Fitr?

Sadaqah Fitr is a form of charity required of every Muslim who has enough provisions for their day and night of Eid. It is a means of purifying one’s fast from any shortcomings and ensuring that the less fortunate can celebrate Eid with dignity. This year, Humanity Without Borders is dedicated to delivering your Sadaqah Fitr to those in need on time, enabling them to enjoy a meaningful Eid.

The minimum requirement for Sadaqah Fitr this year is £5 per person. However, donating more is encouraged and brings greater reward.

For a family of four, the minimum payment would be £20. This amount represents the value of staple food sufficient to meet the needs of those in poverty.

Sadaqah Fitr must be paid before the Eid prayer. Paying it earlier in Ramadan allows those in need to prepare for Eid. However, if paid after the Eid prayer, it is considered a general charity rather than Sadaqah Fitr.

To ensure your donation reaches those in need before Eid, donate your Sadaqah Fitr by Thursday, 27th March 2025.
