Ramadan is a sacred month of fasting, reflection, and devotion. For those who are unable to fast or who have missed a fast, Islam provides a way to compensate and fulfil this responsibility through Fidya and Kaffarah.
At Humanity Without Borders, we ensure that your Fidya and Kaffarah donations are distributed to those in need, providing essential food and relief to the most vulnerable.
Humanity Without Borders uses your Fidya and Kaffarah donations to provide life-saving meals to vulnerable families. Each donation ensures that those in dire need—widows, orphans, the elderly, and the displaced—receive essential food and support.
Through your contributions, we distribute:
Food packs containing staple items.
Freshly prepared meals for families during Ramadan and beyond.
By supporting education, you are giving children the skills to create a better life for themselves and their families.
By donating to Humanity Without Borders, your contribution becomes a source of comfort and hope for those in need, while fulfilling your spiritual obligations.
Fidya is a charitable donation paid by those who are unable to fast during Ramadan due to valid reasons such as: Chronic illness or medical conditions. Old age that prevents fasting. Pregnancy or breastfeeding, where fasting may pose health risks. Fidya is given as compensation for missed fasts that cannot be made up later. By paying Fidya, you are not only fulfilling your religious obligation but also supporting someone in need with essential sustenance.
For Ramadan 2025, Fidya is calculated at £5.50 per fast. This amount covers the cost of feeding one person two meals for each missed day of fasting.
Kaffarah is an expiation for breaking or deliberately missing a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason. It serves as a means to atone for this action and renew one’s commitment to the pillars of Islam.
For those who are unable to fast for health or other valid reasons, the Kaffarah payment is equivalent to £330 per missed fast, calculated at £5.50 per meal for 60 people.
For individuals unable to fast due to permanent or long-term reasons and who cannot make up the missed fasts later.
For individuals who miss or break a fast intentionally and cannot fast for 60 consecutive days due to valid reasons.
