Fidya & Sadaqah Fitr

Fidya

Not all Muslims are able to fast during the month of Ramadan, and for those who can’t, there is the option to pay Fidiya.

Fidya is s a religious donation to the poor and the needy which must be made when a fast is missed through necessity (such as when one is ill, on a journey, pregnant, or of extreme age, young or old) and it cannot be made up after Ramadan.

For every day of missed fasting, one must pay the value of £4

30 days would be £120.00.

Sadaqah Fitr

We are also accepting your Sadaqah al-Fitr donations.

Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (Allah be pleased with him) narrates, ‘The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) enjoined the payment of one Saa’ of dates or one Saa’ of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the ‘Eid prayer.’  (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Sadaqah al-Fitr for Eid al Fitr 2022 is a minimum of £4 per person.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) enjoined the payment of one Saa’ of dates or one Saa’ of barley as Zakat-ul-Fitr on every Muslim slave or free, male or female, young or old, and he ordered that it be paid before the people went out to offer the ‘Eid prayer.’
