I have written in my will that I want my gold jewellery to be given to my granddaughter. Do I still have to pay zakāt on it?

Answer:

As per the rules of waṣīyyah, the jewellery remains yours as long as you are alive. Therefore, you must continue to pay zakāt on it if all other conditions are met.
