In the wake of the catastrophic Storm Daniel in Libya, we urgently need your help.
This devastating storm has wreaked havoc on the Eastern region, leaving a trail of destruction and despair in its wake. At least 6,200 lives have been tragically lost, with the grim possibility of that number rising. In the aftermath of this disaster, approximately 20 thousand people remain missing, and the nation is gripped by an unprecedented state of emergency. The toll of this crisis continues to mount with each passing hour, demanding swift action and unwavering compassion.
The cities of Benghazi, Sousse, Derna, and Al-Marj have been severely affected, with vital infrastructure in ruins, roads and bridges obliterated, and schools and shops shuttered.
Derna, a city of approximately 100,000 people, bears the brunt of this tragedy. Reports suggest that two dams have collapsed, submerging vast areas, and it is feared that over 1,500 residents have perished.
In these darkest hours, Humanity Without Borders is committed to providing immediate relief and support. We have joined forces with our local partners and are collaborating closely with our relief teams on the ground to ensure that your donations have a profound impact on those in need.
