Humanity Without Borders have actively been working and distributing aid in Tanzania since early 2018.
More recently, our UK team on the ground on a humanitarian visit were made aware of a dire situation at an orphanage in Kigamboni.
During the visit our team witnessed first hand the conditions in which approx. 60 children were residing. At present, the children are living in an abandoned animal shelter in bleak and unsafe conditions. The current shelter was started out of necessity with always the view to find better and more suitable place. However due to lack of funds and government support the shelter has remained the same for over 5 years.
After seeing the state of the orphanage, it became apparent that we have to take action.
Currently land has been donated by a local patron and work started on a building but stalled due to lack of funds. The work has made very little progress in the last year due to funding.
Humanity Without Borders have an intention to support the orphanage to completion. The overall cost is estimated to be £120k.
The project has been split into 3 phases.
Phase 1 will be aiming to complete the ground floor at a cost of £30k.
We hope that you will join us on this journey and through your kind support, we can accomplish our mission to see the children in an environment where they can be healthy, happy and safe.
