Today, 6.5 million people in Malawi are suffering from food poverty, this is more than the total population of the entire East Midlands.
Humanity Without Borders have been actively providing aid across Malawi since registering in 2017 - most recently, responding to the devastating floods and erratic rainfall caused by Cyclone Idai in March 2019, which have left almost 100,000 families displaced from their homes, homeless and in life-threatening situations. Amongst these, it is the youngest, oldest and vulnerable who are suffering the most. There are hundreds of thousands of pregnant women, mothers and children who are at severe risk of malnutrition.
Communities are struck by extreme poverty, crops damaged and harvests have failed which has led to prices soaring and families unable to afford food. Families are cooking whatever they can find just to feed their hunger-stricken dependants.
Our team on the ground are actively distributing food parcels to those in need. We urge you to please donate a food pack to help feed destitute families and provide immediate relief. We have our team on the ground ready to support these families with direct food assistance.
You can change the severe conditions faced by a family at just £30 a food parcel. Your donation will feed a family for a month. Please donate now.
